2023-24 PA Days

April 8, 2024 – (Changed from April 19 to April 8) – On the April 19th PD Day, staff across BHNCDSB will be engaging in an equity audit, information on the new Family Life curriculum, mental health protocols, and important trauma-informed education. Staff look forward to this opportunity to learn together to better support our students across the system.

November 17, 2023 – BHNBCDSB staff have a PD day to explore assessment and evaluation; parent/guardian/caregiver conferences for elementary; as well as health and safety, mental health, destreaming, literacy, and numeracy topics.

Tuesday, October 3, 2023 –  Elementary staff will be experiencing in-person PD at various sites and at their schools, learning about the new language curriculum, the math action plan, and creating their School Achievement Plans. They will be engaging in interactive instruction on both literacy and numeracy strategies. The Secondary staff will be focusing on the new language curriculum, destreaming, and assessment at their school sites along with creating their Student Achievement Plans.

Friday, September 15, 2023 – The structure of the day will be similar at each school location but may vary based on times and volunteer opportunities. The day will introduce and bring to life our Spiritual/Pastoral Theme for the 2023-2024 school year. Activities include: Mass (attend a local Catholic church’s service) or Liturgy; View 2 videos. Video #1 The Story  Video #2 Rediscovering our Faith; Participate with a community organization (AM/PM) or all day; Chance to create a visual representing the theme for your school community; Chance to engage in activities and ice breakers to build community for the beginning of the year together; Chance to break bread together for breakfast/lunch; Feedback and questions for Father Toby Collins and next steps for continuing the connection with your community agency/chosen transformational outreach activity.
