May 27, 2026 (Brantford, ON) – The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Varnam as Superintendent of Education, effective July 6, 2026.
Jennifer joins BHNCDSB from the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, where she holds the role of the principal at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Secondary School, and brings more than 20 years of experience in Catholic education, including over a decade of leadership as a school administrator.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to student achievement, well-being, and faith formation. Known for her compassionate leadership, collaborative approach, and strong Catholic values, she consistently places the needs of students at the centre of decision-making. Her extensive experience in supporting student success and fostering meaningful relationships with families, staff, parishes, and community partners will be a tremendous asset to the BHNCDSB community.

A lifelong learner, Jennifer is currently pursuing her PhD through the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. Her passion for teaching and learning, combined with her commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environments, aligns closely with the Board’s mission of Excellence in Learning ~ Living in Christ.

Jennifer Varnam is filling the vacancy left by Superintendent Phil Wilson who was appointed principal at St. Michael’s College School, Toronto.
The Board looks forward to the leadership, experience, and vision Jennifer will bring as she begins this new role serving students, families, and staff across the City of Brantford and Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk counties.
