FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 15, 2026 – BRANTFORD, Ont. – The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) announces that Superintendent of Business Rajini Nelson has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.

Nelson, a CPA, joined BHNCDSB in 2024, bringing extensive financial leadership experience in budget, finance and accounting across the public education sector and private industry. During her time with the Board, she has played an important role in supporting the Board’s financial operations and capital priorities, including the development of the new Catholic secondary school in Brantford and the advancement of two new elementary school projects.

“Rajini has provided strong financial leadership during an important period of growth for our Board,” said Chief Executive Officer Mike McDonald. “She has helped us navigate the financial requirements associated with Board development and Ministry priorities while ensuring we remained focused on supporting our students and schools. She has been a valued member of our senior leadership team and will be missed.”

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to thank Rajini for her leadership and the contributions she has made to our Catholic school communities,” said Chair of the Board Carol Luciani. “We are grateful for the knowledge and experience she brought to the Board and wish her every success as she takes on this new leadership opportunity.”

Nelson’s tenure with BHNCDSB will conclude on October 30, 2026. The Board will begin the process of recruiting its next Superintendent of Business immediately.
