The Board utilizes various social media platforms to assist in sharing information with our community.
Social media is monitored Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
It is important to note that we use our social media platforms for different purposes. Usage includes:
Twitter is the Board’s primary (main) social media platform.
Twitter comments are monitored and engagement can take place on or offline.
The following items are shared via the Board’s Twitter account:
- Alerts (includes emergency info like Lock Downs and Hold and Secures)
- Calls to Action
- Celebrations
- Chair of the Board Correspondence
- Closure Notices
- Days of Significance
- Director of Education Correspondence
- Inclement Weather
- Media Releases
- News
- Retweets (Staff, Community Partners, Media, etc.)
Twitter is monitored by Communication Services.
The Board uses Instagram to share images and general information. Instagram is popular among communities that post/share visuals such as secondary school art classes.
Comments are not available on Instagram.
Instagram must not be relied on for Alerts, Emergency, or Inclement Weather/Closure notices.

The Board uses Facebook to share general information. Facebook is popular among school parent communities.

The Board uses LinkedIn to share job opportunities. LinkedIn posts will direct the user to ApplytoEducation, which is our job application process tool. LinkedIn is popular among job seekers.

YouTube
YouTube is the Board’s video streaming platform. It contains videos from various departments/areas of the Board and is linked to from webpages, factsheets, parent resources, etc.
